Belmont’s mechanics since 1980.
An independent workshop on Abernethy Road. We tell you what your car actually needs, quote before we start, and do the job properly.
What we do
Everyday servicing through to the faults other places can’t pin down. If it isn’t on this list, ring us — chances are we still handle it.
Logbook servicing
New and used cars, serviced to the manufacturer’s schedule and stamped. Using an independent workshop won’t void your new car warranty.
Diagnostics & fault finding
Warning light on, or a fault nobody else can pin down. We scan it, test it, and explain what we found in plain language.
Brakes
Pads, rotors, calipers, hoses and fluid. We measure what’s left before we quote, so you replace what’s worn and nothing else.
Suspension & steering
Shocks, bushes, ball joints, tie rod ends and wheel alignment. The usual cause of a car that wanders, knocks or eats tyres.
Engine & driveline
Timing belts, cooling systems, oil leaks, clutches and transmissions. Major work quoted properly before we start.
Auto electrical & air con
Batteries, alternators, starters, wiring faults and air conditioning that’s stopped blowing cold.
Radiators & cooling
Leaks, thermostats, water pumps and coolant flushes. Overheating turns into an engine rebuild faster than most people expect.
Pre-purchase inspections
Your prospective car over the pit for a proper look underneath, before you hand over any money.
Not sure which one you need? Ring us on (08) 9277 4550 and describe what the car is doing — we’ll tell you straight.
Why people keep coming back
A quote before we start
You’ll know what the job costs before a spanner goes near your car. If we find something else along the way, we ring you and ask first.
Licensed and accountable
Ryders is a licensed Motor Vehicle Repair Business, MRB 11448. That licence exists to protect you if anything ever goes wrong.
We tell you what can wait
Not everything needs doing today. We’ll tell you what’s urgent, what to budget for in six months, and what doesn’t need touching.
Common questions
No. Under Australian Consumer Law you can have your car serviced wherever you like, provided the work follows the manufacturer’s schedule and is properly recorded. We stamp your logbook and keep the records.
Most modern cars are every 10,000 to 15,000 km or every 12 months, whichever comes first. Your logbook has the exact schedule. If you’ve lost it, bring the car in and we’ll work it out from the odometer and the state of the fluids.
A steady amber light usually means get it looked at soon. A flashing one, or any red light, means stop as soon as it’s safe. Red oil pressure and temperature warnings can destroy an engine within minutes.
Yes, Australian, European and Asian makes, petrol and diesel, cars through to light commercials. If we can’t help with something we’ll tell you straight away rather than waste your time.
